Gazing, afar

I don’t know,

If he notices
that my expression remains neutral when
he turns around
to flash a smile
in the rare times of a good mood

This man i love the most, but this man
i fear even more.

My eyes avoid meeting his
Just as how i try most to steer clear of his presence

Every moment around him
is volatile and vulnerable, sparking a furious rush of adrenaline that runs
thick as blood

The unexpected smile momentarily confuses and softens one’s almost hardened heart, but perhaps it blindfolds him from the truth

the fear my eyes carry within
